C02 gas shielded arc welding uses welding wire instead of welding rod, which is sent to the welding gun through the wire feeding hose through the wire feeding wheel and conducted through the conductive nozzle. In CO2 atmosphere, an arc is generated with the base metal and welded by arc heat.
