Types can be divided into positive displacement pump, vane pump and other types according to different working principles. Positive displacement pump uses the change of working chamber volume to transfer energy, mainly including piston pump, plunger pump, gear pump, diaphragm pump, screw pump and so on. Vane pump uses the interaction between rotating blades and water to transfer energy, including centrifugal pump, axial flow pump and mixed flow pump. The pump body of the submersible pump is a vane pump. Other types of water pumps include jet pump, water hammer pump and internal combustion pump, which work respectively based on the principles of jet water hammer and fuel deflagration. Centrifugal pump is a kind of pump that uses centrifugal force to increase water pressure and make it flow. Centrifugal force forces the liquid to throw out from the periphery of the impeller and form a high-speed and high-pressure water flow, which is discharged out of the pump through the pump shell. A low pressure is formed at the center of the impeller, so as to suck in new water flow and form a continuous water flow conveying function. The impeller has blades bent against the rotation direction, and its structural types include closed, semi closed and open. Most agricultural impellers are closed impellers, and both sides of the blades are closed by discs. The pump body gradually expands into a volute shape along the direction of the outlet pipe. The water sucked from one side of the impeller is called a single suction centrifugal pump, and the water sucked from both sides of the impeller is called a double suction centrifugal pump. In order to increase the head, multiple impellers can be installed on the same shaft to become a multi-stage centrifugal pump. The water discharged from the former impeller enters the water inlet of the latter impeller and is discharged from the latter impeller after pressurization. Therefore, the more the number of impellers, the higher the pressure. Some centrifugal pumps are equipped with devices that can automatically eliminate the air in the suction pipe and pump body. There is no need to fill the pump body before starting. They are called self-priming centrifugal pumps, but their efficiency is often lower than that of general centrifugal pumps. Centrifugal pump is most widely used in farmland drainage and irrigation and water supply for agriculture and animal husbandry. It is mostly used in occasions with high head and small flow. The head of single-stage centrifugal pump is 5 ~ 125m, the discharge flow is uniform, generally 6.3 ~ 400m3 / h, and the efficiency can reach 86 ~ 94%
